Rod Davis teacher, author, treehouse builder, partner to Suska, father to Yarri, Rama, & Govind, gardener, maker of Rod's Miracle Granola, alpha male to loving white shepherd Chelya-girl, more than anything else a stubbornly gutsy guy deeply devoted to the practice of meditation (silencing that most subtle and cunning of tricksters, the mind, and entering into the unfathomable depth beyond) and the outrageously challenging adventure of true consciousness development.
After an absolutely necessary but drawn-out mid-life career transition, Rod has completed a Ph.D. in East-West Psychology at CIIS (Calif. Inst. of Integral Studies) in San Francisco. As a long-time student of the yoga tradition (teacher: Baba Hari Dass), he has forged a broad, integral, and penetrating (cut-through-the-fluff) approach to the psychology of spiritual development. Study in Jungian depth psychology, Gnosticism, Christian mysticism, Alchemy, Emerson, and the American New Thought traditions round out his professional training. And, through his firsthand knowledge and experience of the struggles and rewards of long-term committed spiritual practice, he brings clarity and depth, as well as a personal vibrancy and relevance to his writing and teaching.
